Russell Brand and Katy Perry are to wed in India at the end of the year, their pop-star pal Rihanna has let slip.

The couple’s nuptials will take place in the same country where Brand, 34, reportedly proposed to the I Kissed A Girl singer last December.

And Rihanna confirmed the pressure is on for her to make her friend’s final night as a single woman one to remember – as Perry, 25, has asked her to plan the hen party.

“She put that on me last week,” Rihanna told Ryan Seacrest during an interview on his KIIS FM radio show in the US this morning.

“I have to come up with something cool because she’s getting married in India, so I’m like ‘OK, now what do I do to match that?’”

She added: “That’s at the end of the year, so we’ve got some time to plan that.”

The couple, who had only been dating for just four months when the comedian popped the question, are expected to have a star-studded wedding with guests including Brand’s close friends chat-show host Jonathan Ross, funnyman David Walliams, singer Morrissey, former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher and Perry’s US singer pal Taylor Swift.

Not only did Katy Perry and Russell Brand get engaged, but the singer and comedian also reportedly got their relationship by a guru in India just before midnight on New Year’s Eve. A source revealed “Russell wanted to do something special for Katy to show her how much she means to him. They wanted to take part in a traditional ceremony and thought there was no better time that on New Year’s eve. The ceremony is usually used to bless new couples in the hope that it might lead them toward marriage.” I guess that they got the blessing right on cue.

Well, well… it seems Lindsay Lohan really did take her judge’s decision very seriously since she is already back from India. No doubt she desperately wants to be a good student at her new alcohol classes. But it seems that the paparazzi have spotted Lindsay Lohan getting her groove on in LA last night… and she hit a few glasses too. Oh well, probably just a celebration for her amazing accomplishments in saving lives last week. But still, showing up drunk at alcohol classes would be really, really ironic. However, a hangover would probably just suggest Lindsay Lohan has done her homework.

After that very embarrassing event at the MTV VMA’s, there were a few rumors that Kanye West might have fled the scene to India in order to live in hiding and solace over there for a while. Apparently this is not the case as sources close to him seem to say. It is most unfortunate this is so… it might have done Kanye West a world of good to take a brake from it all, especially in a place like India. It might’ve been very good for Taylor Swift’s career too… but, unfortunately, we’re not living in an ideal world here, are we.

Britney Spears hit the road after casting dancers at a Los Angeles area dance studio last week. The 27-year old recovered pop princess was rumored to fly to India for a two-day practice session with choreographer Sandip Soparrkar. The choreographer said “I’ll be meeting her for work only, when she visits Jodhpur. We’ll just be doing a bit of rehearsals, since I am planning to do the rumba, which is the dance of love. Britney is really looking forward to coming to India. She’s heard a lot about it and what tops her list here is trying out the spicy Indian curry.”
