The American Idol contestant seems to have stumbled and fallen… and from the looks of things, broken some limbs and ribs in the process as well. Haeley Vaughn’s song choice for last night was Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb”… which doesn’t do her well at all. Randy Jackson’s opinion is pretty clear: “It didn’t work for me, man. …It was so pitchy and so just not right for you. You had no connection to the song, at all.” Simon Cowell doesn’t want Randy to get ahead of him with the blunt comments so he just lets it out: “It was a complete and utter mess.” It looks like Haeley Vaugh will be on the first plane back home… unless the public really wants to piss a certain judge off and they will disregard his blunt opinion.

Whitney Houston is getting ready to take over the world again as the singer’s first album in seven years, ‘I Look to You’, which dropped last Monday, is expected to sell over 200,000 copies in its first week of release in America. That number would easily put the returning diva in the number one spot on the Billboard 200. The figures for Whitney are based on the 2-day sales report which did well. She’s likely to beat out tween icon Miley Cyrus’ ‘The Time of Our Lives’, which came out on the number three spot with 62,000 copies sold its first week. This could very well be the proof that Whitney is finally back!

Singers such as Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Adele will headline the 2009 VH1 Divas concert in New York later this year.

The show, a fundraiser for the Save The Music Foundation, will be shown live on VH1 in the US on 17 September, after an absence of five years.

The non-profit organisation was set up to promote the use of musical education in schools in the US. The first Diva concert took place in 1998 and, since then, musical instruments worth $43m (£26.2) have been donated to 1,600 schools in 100 cities.

This year’s event will take place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and VH1 has announced that more artists will be added to the line-up.

Lee Rolontz, a VH1 spokesman, said: “Adele, Kelly, Leona and Miley have all captured the world’s attention with their talent and have earned their designation as VH1 Divas this year.”

He added: “These women are among the best entertainers in the world and will continue to thrill music fans for a long time to come.”

Beyonce opened up the show by singing ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Crazy in Love’. Carson Daly and Damien Fahey took to the stage to host a bit before a clip of Miley Cyrus was shown. Then Diddy took to the stage to talk about TRL. Ben Stiller and Christina Aguilera also had clips for TRL before they went to Fall Out Boy performing on a huge stage out in Times Square. Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez also did a mini reunion recollecting their NSYNC days. Kid Rock, TRL news correspondents, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Ludacris, Vanessa Minnillo, Heidi Montag, Hilary Duff and many others showed up to say goodbye to the show.

Taylor Swift is treading dangerously close to Miley Cyrus territory when it comes to having a Jonas Brother for an ex. The country crooning sweetheart couldn’t resist yet another dig at her ex Joe Jonas after news was made public about his new relationship with Camilla Belle. Taylor told OK! “They’ve been together since we broke up. That’s why we broke up – because he met her.” Is she insinuating that he cheated on her? That’s low. She really needs to move on. But Taylor does say that she’s slowly overcoming her heartache by writing songs. She’s probably been writing a lot. When she got asked whether she and Joe are friends, she replied that they don’t talk.

Miley Cyrus was one lucky girl when her rumored boyfriend Justin Gaston sang to her during her Sweet 16 bash at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Miley said of Justin “He’s here. He’s celebrating with the rest of my friends, so that’ll be very nice.” It looks like Justin is really being welcomed into Miley’s life as even her dad Billy Ray approves of the guy even though Justin is 20 years old. Billy Ray said “He actually reminds me a lot of myself when I was 20 years old and I was living and searching for the dream. He’s got a great heart and soul, and a lot of determination. I think that’s the true measure of a man, is when you measure his heart.”

Miley Cyrus has been dating 20-year old Justin Gaston, an underwear model and aspiring country singer. Mind you, Miley is just about to turn 16 in November. An eyewitness tells OK! “Miley and Justin were really playful with each other. And for being with her parents, they were extremely touchy-feely. Miley had her hands on Justin’s stomach. They definitely seemed like a couple. Her parents, Billy Ray and Tish, really gave them space.” Billy Ray, who is the host on ‘Nashville Star’ where Justin used to compete, reportedly took Justin under his wing and eventually introduced him to Miley.

I’ve often talked about how Miley Cyrus doesn’t look or act the way any 15-year old should. But who am I to speak? I don’t have any authority. However, someone that does have some in one way or the other recently dissed the Hannah Montana star to OK! magazine. Project Runway fashion guru Tim Gunn said “[Miley Cyrus] is just a little too tarty, forgive me. I don’t want her to look like she’s going into a convent school, but it’s just a little too much for a 15-year-old. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear she was 25!” He said it, not me.

Katy Perry recently had an interview with YRB magazine where she talks about being a role model – or rather how she’s not one. She says “I’m not here to be a role model personality. I’m here to be in the business of fucking rock and roll. Being in the business of rock and roll means having an attitude, being sexy, being edgy and being unapologetic unless I do something wrong…I look up to people like Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Freddie Mercury and Cyndi Lauper. I want to have that same type of appeal. If people want a role model, they can have Miley Cyrus.”

After the infamous and over talked about “Miley-gate” scandal, she has been welcomed back with open arms into Disney.
They probably missed their little cash cow that they decided to allow Miley to celebrate her 16th birthday party in public at Disneyland.

The “Hannah Montana” star is also sharing the spotlight during the private party with some deserving young people from Youth Service America who’ve been making a difference in their communities.

Entertainment Tonight also learned that Miley’s fans can get a chance to join her as she celebrates her birthday.

Disney is going to sell a limited number of tickets ($250 each) to the very exclusive event; “Miley’s Sweet 16 — Share the Celebration.”

These tickets will go on sale on August 30 at 9am PDT.

The Jonas Brothers are going to top the album charts in the US in the coming weeks. That’s not really much of a surprise but the predictions of how well they’re going to do are. The band of brothers released their new album ‘A Little Bit Longer’ last week and it’s debut numbers are bigger than Miley Cyrus’. Miley topped the album charts by selling 371,000 copies of her album ‘Breakout’. The Jonas Brothers are poised to top the charts with a debut week in the 725,000 area. That’s double what Miley did! The brothers are also the first group ever in history to sell more than 100,000 digital downloads for 3 consecutive singles with ‘Burning Up’ at 183,000, ‘Play My Music’ at 109,000 and ‘Pushin Me Away’ at 116,000.

Sources are saying that Hilary Duff is pretty close to parting ways with her label Hollywood Records, the same label as Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. It’s being said that the old excuse of creative differences is being given for the split which is still being finalized. Hollywood Records has actually been pushing Hil to release a new record before the year ends. However, because of her desire for a new home, Hilary will now be releasing a greatest hits album in the fall to quickly end her contract. It’s also being said that Miley was a factor in the split as “Hilary didn’t think the label has been giving her enough support and promotion as some of the other acts.”

Disney should really think and work hard at replacing Miley Cyrus ASAP. Someone better take the throne as the new Disney tween queen from the ‘Hannah Montana’ star as it seems that people have had enough of her. The 15-year old has vowed to stay a virgin until marriage yet we still see all those provocative pictures. British mothers have gone tired of that as several moms are boycotting Miley by banning her dolls and toys from their homes. They feel that Miley “is now of an unsuitable nature for a 15-year old megastar.” Help get rid of Miley Cyrus by simply saying no.

Miley Cyrus was spotted grabbing a bite to eat at a Malibu restaurant with her mom Tish on Wednesday. In other Miley news, the ‘Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert’ will air on the Starz channel and Starz on Demand at 9PM EDT Saturday, July 26. Beginning on July 27 on Starz on Demand and Starz HD on Demand, it will begin airing in 3D so make sure you have your own 3D glasses made by then. The film was shown in 3D for its theater run and grossed more than $65 million. I wonder how big of ratings the TV airing will rake in.

She didn’t just surprise concert goers, but she shocked Nashville Star judge Jeffery Steele as well. The fundraiser was a concert for the Alex LeVasseur Fund, which was created by Steele to honor his son who died in an ATV accident in 2007, at only 13 years old.

Steele shocked the audience by introducing Billy Ray Cyrus, who performed two songs. Then, to everyone’s surprise, Miley ran onstage and asked to perform a song. She wanted to sing “Simple Song” which she recorded. It was the only song written by Steele that was on his son’s IPOD. It was an emotional occassion.

Miley Cyrus is featured on the cover of the new issue of Billboard. She talks about a lot of things like Vanity Fair, fans being shut out of her last tour, Hannah Montana, acting in a flick not related to Disney or Hannah Montana, on being a role model, but the most interesting part for me was when she talked about her new album and her songwriting. She says “It’s grown-up. I wrote all the songs except two… I wrote my first song when I was probably 7–it was called ‘Pink.’ That shows what kind of song it was about—it’s about the color pink. But you know what, darn it, I wrote it and I’ve been writing since I was my little sister’s age.” She tries so hard to be an artist.

As if Miley Cyrus playing Hannah Montana isn’t sweet enough, country cutie Taylor Swift has signed on to be in Hannah Montana: The Movie as well.

Taylor says, “I’m making a cameo, so I’m so excited about that. I’m playing one of my own songs and just in the background of one of the scenes. I’m just like the bar band, which is kinda fun.”

Taylor goes on to express how much she’s looking forward to the spot. “I’m just really excited about it because it’s really cool when some of my little fans will come up with a Hannah Montana shirt on, and I want to be like, ‘Guess what? I get to be in that movie with her!’”

You can choose to believe it or to not believe it but Paula Abdul is set to do a live performance very soon. The American Idol judge has just been confirmed to be kicking off the Today show concert series on April 25th. ‘Hannah Montana’ star Miley Cyrus and Rihanna are also included in the list of performers scheduled for the concert series. Those two we’re sure could get through a live show. Paula, I’m not quite sure of. She can’t exactly lip synch or she might get booed off the stage. And she can’t video tape the performance much like she did for the Super Bowl. Be prepared for a train wreck to happen.
