Robbie Williams recently took to his blog to say thank you to his fans as he celebrates twenty years in music. He even posted an adorable picture of himself in a pink onesie outfit. The singer wrote “What better way to celebrate a lifetime achievement award than in an £8 Primark all in one….come on! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS…” Congratulations to Robbie for having such staying power in this industry. He’s had his ups and downs but he’s still here. That’s more than I can say for other artists. I wonder where he got that outfit.
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ phenomenon Susan Boyle is quickly becoming a household name. The 48-year old signer’s videos on YouTube have already been watched over 46 million times! ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell is reportedly thinking about producing a duets album for Susan and former cell phone salesman and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ champ, Paul Potts. Simon’s apparently already developing a film entitled ‘Star Struck’ which is based on Paul’s surprising leap from obscurity to fame and popularity. I hope that duets album does happen. That combo will be nothing short of spectacular! I’ll line up to buy a dozen copies of it.
Life & Style has provided us with a sneak peek at the new official website for Britney Spears. Lauren, Britney’s Social Media Director, says “Welcome to the most exclusive Britney community online right now! By participating in this community, we are shaping the future of Britney online.” The current site reads that it’s coming soon but the new site will finally re-launch later this month. A Spears family insider reveals that “They’re working with people at unofficial Britney fan sites to brainstorm about what fans really want. Britney’s going to be very involved, posting her videos, photos and notes to fans and breaking exclusives, like new music.”
She has never talked about it before but that’s all changing now. Alanis Morissette became an internet sensation when she decided to do a piano-only version of the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘My Humps’. She even made a parody video for it which has been seen on YouTube by almost 15 million people. When it first hit the net, the singer was hounded about it but she refused to talk about it. In the new issue of The Advocate, Alanis reveals that it all came from a brainstorming session with Guy Sigsworth wherein she said “I wish I could just write a really simple song—a song like ‘My Humps.’” One pregnant pause later and they were recording a piano version of it.
