Brit singer Liam Gallagher is to make a movie about the final years of The Beatles.
The former Oasis frontman’s new film production company is developing a biopic based on a book by the Fab Four’s’ “house hippy” in the late 1960s.
Richard DiLello’s memoir The Longest Cocktail Party tells of the “wild rise and fall” of the Beatles’ company Apple between the heady days of 1968 and the band’s break-up in 1970.
The Oasis singer’s older brother Noel is also a fan of the work, first published in 1972, which he described as “brilliant”.
Gallagher’s film company, In 1 Productions, will collaborate on the project with leading UK independent Revolution Films, it has been confirmed.
A spokesman for In 1 Productions said: “This will be a film with humour and affection, providing an insider’s look at what it meant to be a young man caught up in the wild swirl of the music business, celebrities and the tail end of the swinging 60s in London.”
It is understood that details will be announced at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.
The famed Abbey Road studios which served as an icon for the Beatle’s album of the same name has been put up for sale by EMI. The asking price is unknown but experts are estimating the building to be worth around $20 million. It’s kind of hard to put a price on a piece of legendary music history. If there are a lot of interested buyers, I have a feeling that the estimated selling price could easily go up. I wonder why they decided to sell it in the first place. Are they that hard up for money that they’re willing to give up a piece of history?

She has also spent more weeks at number 1 on the Official UK Album Chart than any other female solo artist, had more UK number 1 singles than any other female solo artist, achieved the chart double (number 1 album and single) more times than any other female solo artist and completed the highest grossing tour in history for a female solo artist.
Sir Paul McCartney has shunned expensive hotels in favor of camping. The 66-year-old musician is currently on a US road trip with girlfriend Nancy Shevell, and the pair decided to spend a night under the stars when they arrived at Bennett Springs State Park in Missouri last weekend.
A fellow camper said: “It was incredible to see one of the world’s richest musicians going back to basics. They didn’t seem to have a care in the world as they laughed and joked with each other.”
After spending the night in their tent, the couple further amazed onlookers when they set off on a hike in stifling heat.
A source explained to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “It was nearly 30 degrees but the heat didn’t slow them down at all. They were like two teenagers on a first date – it was really sweet. They were seen tucking into sandwiches. Paul even had a cheeky bottle of stout which he had packed away.”
