Whitney Port said she was surprised by Brody Jenner’s new relationship with Avril Lavigne.
Port, 25, starred in US show The Hills with Jenner, 26, and said she was shocked by his recent hook-up with singer Lavigne, 25.
Asked about their relationship, she said to E!: “I heard little rumblings of it. Is it serious?”
The pair were recently rumoured to have had tattoos together and after being told about the latest news, Port said: “Stop it right now! [laughs] Oh, my gosh.
“Well, if they’re happy, then more power to them! But that’s so funny… I don’t mean funny like they’re funny together. I just didn’t expect it. But sometimes I think the greatest things are unexpected, you know?”
Well, that’s what happens when your ex-husband is the one that’s producing your album. It seems that Avril Lavigne has pushed the release date for her next album to mid-2010 because she and the album’s producer, Deryck Whibley, who is also her former husband can’t seem to get along too well. This is what a music agent said about Avril Lavigne’s working relationship with Deryck Whibley: “The first eight songs, Avril and Deryck worked with a lot of love and it came easy. But there’s three or four more to do and they just ain’t feeling it. It’ll be a terrific album if they can put this aside for a month or so and concentrate on what matters — the music.” How could they ever put it aside for even a month when they have not yet decided who gets the dog? Divorce is always a messy business, isn’t it?
Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from Deryck Whibley. The singer cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. According to the documents, Avril says that they separated on September 4th and that she and the Sum 41 front man were married for 3 years and 1 month. Avril isn’t asking for spousal support and she also checked the box in the documents saying that she doesn’t want to have to pay Deryck any money. Obviously, she makes more money than he does and she doesn’t want any more trouble than she has to deal with. I wonder how Deryck feels about all this.
Avril Lavigne is one of 25 25-year old cover stars celebrating Paper Magazine’s 25th anniversary. The pop punk singer talked about her fourth record to the magazine saying that it “is about feelings. [My husband Deryck Whibley] added so much. He’s already a performer. So instead of your typical pop producer, he is an actual musician.” The 24 other cover stars are Wale, Kelly Osbourne, Jessica White, Paul Dano, Alexa Chung, Simon O’Connor, Melanie Diaz, Kid Cudi, Mamie Gummer, Mika, Greta Gerwig, Naturi Naughton, Max Snow, Aubrey O’Day, Tyson Ritter, Lydia Hearst, Zoe Kazan, Taylor Hanson, Melanie Fiona, Patrick Wolf, Aska Matsumiya, Avril Lavigne, Paul Rodriguez Jr., Josephine de la Baume, and Rob Brown.
Pop star Avril Lavigne is all set to enter the cosmetics business with the launch of her first fragrance. The singer recently signed a deal with beauty products company Procter & Gamble that will see a slew of new toiletries line ranging from perfumes, oil, bath soap, men’s aftershave, body lotion and shower gel.
In line with that major deal Lavigne announced the launch of her first fragrance named Black Star. Posting her thoughts on her official website Avril says, “I’m traveling to London next week where I’m about to announce my latest project… my very first fragrance! I’m really excited and can’t wait to share it with you. It has been a pretty cool experience. It’s so me in a bottle. I love the packaging. The name is Black Star!”
I think she entering the business a bit too late with other celebrities already having a number of such product already in the market place many of which are really popular. It also means that she is seeing the nearing of the end of her career and therefore is now into toilet accessories to keep spinning the money.

Things in the marriage of Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley seem to be on the rocks. While Avril’s been going crazy on her tour, Deryck’s been at home, causing the couple to live separate lives. According to the National Enquirer Deryck was recently spotted cozying up to a tall brunette beauty at Villa night club. It was the very same night that Avril was on the other side of the world, performing concert in China. Considering that Deryck is now washed up and that Avril’s the only one bringing in some money, he may want to think twice about getting a divorce.
In a world where hardly anyone loves you anymore, you have no choice but to love yourself. That is exactly what Avril Lavigne did to boost her own ego. In an interview with the Daily Star, the singer said “I have my own style that happens to be different from everyone else in Hollywood. My inspiration is me.” What style is that exactly? She looks just like every other pop star turned punk rock wannabe. Don’t believe anything that she says. She’s just as packaged as Britney Spears back then. And just look at her now. The then anti-Britney is starting to look very much like Britney except with different clothes own.
Malaysia’s Islamic opposition party has urged the government to cancel a concert by Avril Lavigne saying that the Canadian singer’s dances are too sexy. The youth wing of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party said that her concert would promote wrong values ahead of the country’s August 31 independence day. A party official says “It is considered too sexy for us. … It’s not good for viewers in Malaysia. We don’t want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models.” Malaysia requires all performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and be covered from chest to knees. They must also refrain from jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage. I was all for saying no to Avril but come on! Those laws are so last millennium!
Avril Lavigne’s fans are shamelessly cheating their way to the top! My most hated Canadian singer’s fans are deceptively working to drive the video for ‘Girlfriend’ to YouTube’s most watched top spot – the #1 most viewed video of all time. The top spot currently belongs to the ‘History of Dance’ clip. Avril fans have sent out emails to people getting them to watch Avril’s video as many times as possible and they have even set up automated YouTube view-boosting sites. The pages automatically reload the video every 15 seconds to rack up as many hits as possible. Honestly, they’re doing absolutely nothing but making her look lamer than she already is.
Avril Lavigne just can’t catch a break with people hating on her left and right. Even the singer’s dancers are turning on her. One of her backup dancers has revealed just how much of an insecure mess and a diva she is to work with. Sara Von Gillern might have to look for a new job soon as she recently told the press how hard (though only implied) it is to work with Avril. Sara rocked a seriously spiky and streaked hairdo and was asked if it was for the tour. Sara revealed that “Actually, it’s a rule we all have to have dark hair, there can only be one blonde on the stage. One of the other dancers is bleach blonde but she has to wear a wig. She actually has like five different dark ones.”
It’s discount after discount after discount. Is anyone still making money over this tour? A lot of promoters are having such a hard time selling tickets to Avril Lavigne’s tour that The Mohegan Sun is actually giving them away. If they’re having that much of a hard time at it and losing money either way, why don’t they just put an end to the tour? It would probably save them even more money. It’s not like the discounts or the freebies put a considerable amount of people in the seats to watch Avril anyway. I’m sure refunding those who already bought tickets wouldn’t put a dent in their wallets either.
Avril Lavigne’s tour is so underselling that she is making desperate measures just to sell tickets. The Canadian poser has recently added the Jonas Brothers to her lineup which also includes the previously announce Boys Like Girls. With the addition of the Jonas Brothers, tickets are sure to sell. Boys Like Girls have a pretty good fan base as well so their presence would help too. But can you just imagine being the headliner and having the crowd cheer louder for your opening acts? That’s just plain humiliating. I’m willing to bet that people would start walking out just before Avril starts her set.
To tell you honestly, I’m over celebrities, more specifically musicians, coming out with fragrances. Most of those fragrances don’t even smell that good or are imitations of really great ones. But it’s a booming business. The latest celebrity to jump into the fragrance business is Avril Lavigne. Now why would you want to smell like Canada’s most hated?
It seems that the singer has started taking the steps in releasing her own fragrance. Sources say that she filed an application with the US patent and trademark office last month for “G & S: Fragrances and perfumery; after shave; pre-shave; bath oil; bath soap; shower gel; body shampoo; deodorant for personal use; tissues impregnated with cosmetic lotions; bath crystals; bath milks; dusting powder; body lotion; body splash; body cream; hand lotion; and talc”.
I’ve already said that Avril Lavigne has settled her copyright infringement lawsuit with The Rubinoos. And now, the guys that sued her have made a statement further saying that the pop rocker is in the clear. The singer was sued back in July by Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer over their 1979 song “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend”.
They have now renounced their suit and are saying that “We are satisfied that any similarities between the two songs resulted from Avril and Luke’s use of certain common and widely used lyrics. We therefore completely exonerate Avril and Luke from any wrongdoing of any kind in connection with the claims made by us in our lawsuit.”
Z100’s Jingle Ball was held on Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was attended by some of the hottest stars and featured some great performances from them as well.Avril Lavigne and Alicia Keys are only two artists who performed at the event. Both of them did great. I have no question about Alicia Keys, she always does great. Avril Lavigne is another case because she’s been known to be flaky but I guess she’s got the holiday spirit and actually did a good set.
A lot of other artists took to the stage. A debut was even made – Ashley Tisdale’s new nose!
No matter the success her album has achieved nor the accolades she received, Avril Lavigne is having trouble selling tickets for her 2008 tour. Tickets recently went on sale and a concert industry source pretty much said that sales are bombing.
Avril is set to play amphitheaters, arenas and theaters. Some tickets are selling for as little at $14 but she’s still having a hard time selling them. Sources are saying that it’s because she’s starting her tour late. Her tour starts on March 2008 but the album she’s doing the tour for was released April 2007.
If she cancels, it’ll be like Kelly Clarkson all over again.
Avril Lavigne attended the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 last night in Germany. Apparently Europeans really dig her because she knocked out Justin Timberlake in the top two categories. Not only did her song “Girlfriend” win Most Addictive Track, but Avril walked away with the coveted award for Solo Artist of 2007. Her being a ghostly white is not the problem… the problem is her vapid personality. I’m sure you guys have all heard her talk and her views on the world. This has to be one of the stupidest people I’ve ever heard interviewed… she makes Britney look like Stephen hawking. Dumb bitch, go to Hell if you support this idiot. Is there anyone who doesn’t hate this bitch? I actually like some of her songs and think they’re catchy (hate to admit it) but she does seem like such a C U next Tuesday (sorry, can’t bring myself to say that word that is only reserved for the worst of the worst females). And whets the deal w/ hanging out w/ Britney all of a sudden? She always bashed the shit out of her, thinking she was better than her. What up?
