It seems Jennifer Lopez’s little accident at the American Music Awards has not gone without some serious damage: the singer’s behind has been very much affected. This is what Jennifer Lopez said about the unfortunate event: “I have a bruised bone. What happened was one of the dancers’ backs was slippery from sweat and lights and everything. We never bargained for that because they always had T-shirts on in rehearsal. So they were bare-backed, didn’t have shirts on for the performance, and when I stepped on their backs my feet got wet. So when I landed, it just slipped from under me.” A bruised bone? How can a bone be bruised? And moreover, what kind of shoes does Jennifer Lopez wear while performing that they slip so easily on sweaty flesh? They should make a law to prevent that.

Taylor Swift cleaned up at the American Music Awards last week, taking home five awards, including the biggest of the night, Artist of the Year. Taylor wasn’t at the show and instead watched it via satellite in London’s Wembley Arena. She accepted her final award at nearly 4AM London time! The 19-year old country singer was the only one to have beaten out Michael Jackson, who won four posthumous awards. Taylor said “Music has never been ultimately about competition. And to even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson, who we will miss and love forever, is an unimaginable honor.”

Jennifer Lopez attempted a daring dance move and made a big jump, only to fall down on her butt while performing her new song ‘Louboutins’ at the 2009 American Music Awards which were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. Thankfully, the singer was packing plenty of cushion as she immediately shot back up, got into a costume change and finished off her knock out performance. If you’re on the west coast and aren’t familiar with the incident, it was because the fall was edited out of the broadcast. Why? It would have been such a TiVo moment!

And she’s only so young! It seems that Taylor Swift has really managed an outstanding performance at the American Music Awards having received four awards, just as much as the late pop legend Michael Jackson. Well, she did have the advantage of being alive over him, but Taylor Swift also gets extra points for being such a young artist with such an exponentially growing career. At to this her awards from the Country Music Awards and you have quite the resume. Add to that Taylor Swift’s new line of voodoo dolls and she has quite the career ahead of her… and she’s not even a product of American Idol. Top that Simon Cowell!

It seems that Rihanna’s terrible incident with Chris Brown has finally blown over and the singer is back to her old stage-going ways. Apparently, there are rumors that she will be hosting this years American Music Awards. Now of course, the question on everybody’s lips is “what if Chris Brown will be there?” But ask yourselves: “What if Chris Brown AND Kanye West will be there?” The answer is fairly simple: a great show… and moreover, Rihanna is apparently wearing an eye-patch these days, but also going on with her Lady GaGa-ish outfits. What more could you want? Maybe a pack of mutant hamster zombies crushing the show… and then you’ve got yourself the perfect recipe for a great evening.

Christina Aguilera and Target teamed up to celebrate ‘A Night of Music’ which was held at LA LIVE! in downtown Los Angeles recently. Speaking of a night of music, at the 2008 American Music Awards, the powerhouse singer performed a 7-minute medley which included her hits ‘Beautiful’, ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better’, ‘Dirrty’, ‘Fighter’ and ‘Genie in a Bottle’. It’s a good thing she didn’t rip off that much from Lady Gaga this time around. She might run out of excuses as to why their two styles seem to match way too much. It’s a losing battle anyway. She should just admit that she’s copying Lady Gaga’s style.

The American Music Awards were recently on and saw former lovers Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift keep it cool when asked if they were weirder out by each others presence at the ceremony. Joe Jonas said that it was all good while Taylor Swift just gushed about being there saying “I’m so excited to be here, I’m so excited the album went number one… to be here and to be nominated and performing. This is going to be a fun night.”
