Ashley Tisdale may have become popular as the dumb cutie blonde in the three installments of the phenomenal High School Musical but she is itching to get away from that persona saying the world should take a look at her beyond the Disney film. She said she is now 23 years old and there is more to her than what people see in the bubbly dumb blonde character she played in HSM.

Fresh from the success of her “Headstrong” album, Ashley Tisdale is now aggressively promoting her new album “Guilty Pleasure” which has a more edgy and pop-rock sound. The album will be released on June 16, 2009. Ashley Tisdale said people should know she has a tougher side and that she loves rock music. The first cut from her new album “It’s Alright, It’s OK” seems to be saying what she wants the people to know —standing up for herself.

Madonna is back in Malawi to adopt another child. This time, it’s a girl. Officials from Malawi have confirmed that the Queen of Pop is adopting a 3-year old girl named Mercy James. Malawi’s Director of Child Welfare Services said “The adoption is going ahead. It has been at an advanced stage for some time.” According to officials, Mercy is from the “Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother, they both died…We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week.” So what’s the reason for the adoption? Madonna recently told Malawi’s The Nation newspaper that “Many people – especially our Malawian friends – say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister. It’s something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government.”

Rocker Ryan Adams who recently married actress-singer Mandy Moore has confessed that previously he would use the Roosevelt Hotel which is amongst the trendiest Hollywood hotels to hide marijuana. He would use the shaft of his hotel room frequently to hide marijuana.

Speaking to Black Book magazine Ryan Admas said: “I used to hide my pot in the ventilator shaft for every time I returned with a few Xanax for coming down from the boozing. It was always there as they never dusted the place. Not so anymore.”

He is speaking of his hiding place in such a manner as if he is leading us to a treasure discovery. Post marriage why do these rockers or rather all singers feel the need to speak about their past antics as if to be saying, oh! Those good old days, if they ever come back!!

He is behaving like an insomniac whose just discover kilos worth of cocaine and stuff and wants to tell is other friends of a secretive hiding place so they too can go and carry on the great tradition of drugs in the safe haven of such hotels.

Some time ago, it was rumored that MIA’s newborn baby boy was named Ickitt. The rumors were shot down of course. Who would name their baby that weird a name? Well, MIA apparently – and even weirder. Someone got their hands on the rapper’s new baby’s birth certificate which states that the boy’s name is Ikhyd. According to the document, Mathangi Maya Arulpragasam officially named her song Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman. Oh yeah, because that is so much better than what was rumored. And here’s an interesting fact for you – MIA’s birth date has been listed as 7/18/75 which makes her 33 years old. Who would have ever thought with that baby face of hers?

The singer who married actor Josh Duhamel in January is keen to get pregnant, but not while she is touring. Fergie said: “I definitely want kids, but just not while I am touring with the Peas. It is not pragmatic for me to be doing 100 walkovers with a bun in the oven, so I am going to leave that for afterwards.” How very responsible of Fergie… putting her singing career before having children. I must say that is admirable, Fergie definitely deserves commendation for it. She’s apparently very keen on showing off on the new tour too, as she states: “I am getting all my wardrobe together, which is so much fun for me. My hairstyles are going to be different. I am really excited about the new look. It is a little more futuristic, and I am excited for it.” Go for it, Fergie, the fans await!

Check out the new song by Kate Voegele, “Manhattan From The Sky” The track was featured on last night’s episode of One Tree Hill and is one of the several shiny new gems featured on her upcoming release, A Fine Mess, due out in May. Kate Voegele, who plays the spunky Mia on the popular teen drama, calls the placement of “Manhattan From The Sky” “the most amazing set-up ever.” “The coolest thing is how they worked the song into the show so that it enhanced the scene, and how the scene enhanced the song.”
She says the idea for the piano-driven pop number came to her while sitting in a plane, 30,000 feet above New York City. “I was just thinking about how Manhattan looks like a little piece of Lego,” Kate Voegele recalls, “but once you’re inside, it’s totally crazy and messy and there’s a wonderful chaos going on all around the city.”

Ashley Tisdale recently held auditions for her new band in Los Angeles as she gears up to release Guilty Pleasure later this year. Single File rock, and their new website is here to prove just that! The brand new site, SingleFileRock.com, was launched along with news that the band is set to rock the stage with Alkaline Trio and Saves The Day for a string of dates in late April and the early days of May leading into the famed Bamboozle fest on May 3rd.

The rock continues on for Single File as they release Common Struggles, their major label debut, on April 7th. The album, produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, The All-American Rejects, Less Than Jake) features the quirky pop-rock track “Mannequin Loveseat” as well as the just released album single “Girlfriends.” The new single is sure to be a hit as it channels the likes of Weezer, Plain White T’s and all that’s right with modern pop-rock.

The front man from “Coldplay” managed to make one of his father’s dreams come true by arranging a meeting for him with Olivia Newton John. Chris Martin related the whole thing: “When I was a kid my dad would make me listen to Olivia Newton John in the car all the time. He’s always been a massive fan and the main reason he comes on tour with us to Australia is on the off chance she might be there and he’d get to meet her. And for the first time on this trip, she was and I set up a breakfast for them. My dad said afterwards, ‘Son, you’ve made a lifelong dream for me.’ That was so cool to hear from him. It may have taken 32 years but I felt so happy and proud.” I guess Chris Martin should be grateful that his father’s dreams are so accessibly fulfilled. But where one is fulfilled, another shall arise and this time Chris Martin might need to get into a little necromancy before he can accomplish his next task.

Lindsay Lohan is supposedly very keen on getting her acting career back on track and is trying to get in touch with Seth Rogen in order to achieve her goals. Lindsay Lohan said the following: “We’re trying to get Seth Rogen for this project, but Seth won’t call us back. So call us back, Seth, if you’re reading this! I’m talking to lots of people. One is Sean Penn – I spoke to him again the other day.” Doesn’t Lindsay Lohan know that Seth Rogen has much more nobler endeavors to pursue, such as selling comics? He’s not interested in acting any more… or so he claimed. Guess that means that Lindsay Lohan’s career is going to go bust too. Such a pity!

A song off of Tori Amos’ highly anticipated new album, ‘Abnormally Attracted to Sin’ has hit the internet. And just a personal opinion, though I think everyone else will think the same, it’s really great! ‘Welcome to England’ sounds close to ‘From the Choirgirl Hotel’ than some of her recent offerings. Mind you, that’s a cult favorite album. If this is a taste of what’s to come, I’m so hungry for more. And it seems that someone is quite ready to feed that hunger as two other songs have leaked. And just like the first one to leak, both of them are also amazing. It looks like a little break did some good things to Tori’s writing and recording skills.

Pussycat Dolls have just premiered the video for their version of A R Rahman’s Oscar winning “Jai Ho!” “It was such a great honor to be able to re-write my own version of the lyrics,” said PCD’s Nicole Scherzinger who worked with producer Ron Fair on the new interpretation of the track. The Dolls shot the video for “Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)” at an abandoned train station museum in snowy Vienna with director Thomas Kloss (Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus).

Check out Demi Lovato’s just released video for “Don’t Forget. “ The video for the heartfelt ballad was shot at Griffith Park in Los Angeles, CA and features Demi rocking out in the rain. “Don’t Forget” is the title track off of Demi’s debut album and will appear on her new Deluxe Edition due out on March 31st along with two brand new songs, behind the scenes content and making of the video footage. Pop star Kylie Minogue has reportedly become the highest and most expensive foreign celebrity in the Indian film industry with a production company name Shree Vinayak having paid her a cool $1 million to sing and appear in a single song.

He is all set to appear in the song alongside action start Akshay Kumar in her Bollywood debut and it is learnt that Kylie was impressed by what she was in the couple of days she was in India. The pop star said: “My overriding memory is the warmth and professionalism of people. I arrived as a stranger but left considering myself as family.”

Akshay Kumar told Britain’s Daily Star, “Kylie Minogue couldn’t have been more perfect. Her beautiful voice and bubbly personality are adored by so many. She is the perfect diva.”

Who says there is an economic downturn, though I can personally feel it here at my place but these people still shake their ass and get paid a cool million dollars? She would be willing to go to timbaktu if the shoot happened there.

The pop singer’s father is very determined to avoid anything going wrong with Britney Spears on her new tour so he has instituted a chain of rules for her. A source lays out Britney Spears’ new restrictions and obligations: “Jamie is determined nothing can go wrong with Britney’s comeback. He’s making sure she reads the Bible for at least an hour during her quiet time before she goes on stage and has banned her from using the internet. He is even monitoring what she eats by insisting on none of her beloved junk food on the rider. He’s stopping her from leaving her hotel unless accompanied by a security guard and even though she gets on much better with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, she isn’t allowed to speak to him without Jamie or her manager there.” Does the word “overprotective” ring any bells for Jamie Spears? No? How about “bible-black tyrant”? Of course, he’s right… reading the Bible one hour a day will most assuredly do Britney Spears a world of good… now Jamie Spears just has to make sure she doesn’t read the same verse over and over again. Wouldn’t want to brainwash his own daughter, now would he?

The singer’s management team will not be changed in the future, even though there are reports that he is very unhappy with how they handled the situation regarding his upcoming trial. Chris Brown’s mother and co-manager, Joyce Hawkins, said: Reports that Chris is looking to replace his team, including lawyer Mark Geragos, manager Tina Davis and publicist Mike Sitrick, are false. There are only two people who could make a change at that level on Chris’ behalf – his business attorney Kenny Meiselas and me – and neither of us were the source of this information. Let me state unequivocally, that no change is planned or being made with respect to Mark Geragos, Tina Davis or Mike Sitrick. We are very pleased with the work they are doing.” Chris Brown’s lawyer will supposedly be meeting the judge who is responsible for his case on March 23rd for lord only knows what purposes. We’ll see if they can still keep their positions after Chris Brown’ trial.

Michael Jackon’s so-called comeback is off to a good start as fans of the dethroned King of Pop who attempted to buy pre-sale tickets for his London O2 Arena shows this past Wednesday were met with error messages galore. The mass amount of users trying to buy their tickets at the same time caused the pre-sale website to crash. I guess his camp didn’t anticipate the bum rush of ticket buyers and didn’t bulk up the site’s server. Fans who thought that they were eligible for pre-sale tickets after obtaining an access code from O2 were left disappointed after the codes weren’t recognized by the site.
