Usher’s wife Tameka now out of hospital
The wife of R&B star Usher has been released from the São Paulo’s Sírio-Libanês Hospital last Tuesday. Tameka Raymond spent 11 days in the Brazil hospital after a botched liposuction surgery. Usher cancelled his Grammy Award performance and immediately flew to Brazil last February 7 when he learned of his wife’s medical emergency. Usher was however spotted boarding a states-bound flight at the São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport early this week. There were no reports whether Tameka is still in Brazil or has already left for the United States.
The 37-year old Tameka, who gave birth to their second son last December, reportedly suffered cardiac and respiratory arrest as she was being given anesthesia for the liposuction procedure. She was revived but to avoid unnecessary complications she was placed in an induced coma for 24 hours. Usher’s representatives kept everything under wraps except for a statement saying Tameka had an emergency medical concern but was fine. Details of the emergency were however confirmed by plastic surgeon Silvio Sterman’s spokeswoman.
