Here’s to a sweet September for Lesley Roy. The Irish rocker is kicking off a tour with Kate Voegele, releasing her debut album and even celebrating her birthday. Her first single “I’m Gone, I’m Going” is spreading like wildfire at radio and is featured as the theme song of MTV’s new show Exiled.

The guys in Plain White T’s have learned a bit about life since “Hey There Delilah” and that’s no more evident than in the new video for the infectious single, “Natural Disaster”. After being nominated for two VMAs (best new artist and best pop video), Tokio Hotel have extended their US stay and are set to take over Hollywood with performances on Jimmy Kimmel (9/9) and at local landmark Hollywood & Highland (9/6). Fans are in for a treat as Kimmel has invited the band to rock out on the infamous outdoor stage with a 5-song set including hit single “Monsoon.” Fandemonium is sure to ensue as the 10 craziest fans at Hollywood & Highland will be awarded VIP treatment with early admission to the Kimmel performance and their fifteen minutes of fame on national TV. The Veronicas are wrapping up their dates with the Jonas Brothers and heading out on the road with another trio of brothers. Lisa and Jess will hop on tour with Hanson for a slew of dates beginning September 21st in Dallas through October 7th in Alabama. Simon Cowell talked to Extra about the very obvious news that Clay Aiken is gay:
“Wow, that’s a shock. It’s like being told Santa Clause isn’t real — unbelievable.”
Of course Simon had to be sarcastic! But then he softened and encouraged Aiken by saying “Good for him. If he said it, it’s the right thing for him. Good for him.”
As for how Aiken’s fans will react, Cowell opined, “I don’t think anyone cares. Let’s face it. It’s 2008. You know, who cares?”

It has recently been announced that David Cook will be releasing his debut album on November 18th. His label 19 Recordings/RCA Records also said that the 25-year old American Idol champ has teamed up with Grammy winning producer Rob Cavallo, who has worked with Green Day and Kid Rock, on the studio album. I can’t wait to hear more from David Cook. The Idol single barely does him justice. Even David Archuleta beat him with a new single. But we all know which David is the best anyway. I’m willing to bet that David Cook is going to take the top spot on lots of charts once his album drops.
British musician James Morrison is claiming that Madonna is one rude bitch. He’s even named her as the most impolite celebrity he’s ever met. James was in LA working at a studio when he introduced himself to the Queen of Pop. That’s when she allegedly said nothing and ignored him. In a recent interview, James said “I was recording in a studio in LA and she came in to speak to a producer and someone asked if I wanted to meet her. I’m not her biggest fan but thought I’d say hello so I went over and said: ‘Hello, I’m James, nice to meet you,” and put my hand out to shake hands. She just looked at it and said: ‘And what do you do?’ I told her I was a singer and she just stared at me and didn’t say anything. It was really uncomfortable. Then she just ignored me. Fuck her, though, it’s just a matter of common courtesy. It doesn’t matter what someone does for a living. She’s just rude. There’s no excuse for it.”
It’s official! Britney Spears will be releasing her sixth studio album ‘Circus’ on her birthday, December 2. Her label Jive/Zomba announced that her first single ‘Womanizer’, which was produced by the up and coming Atlanta production team The Outsyders, will drop on September 22. That’s this Monday! Britney also enlisted the help of established producers and writers for her newest effort including Dr. Luke who wrote and produced the album’s title track, Danja, Max Martin, Bloodshy & Avant and Guy Sigsworth who has previously worked with the likes of Madonna, Alanis Morissette and Bjork. From the list of her producers, her album is shaping up to be a hit.
American Idol has had more failures in its history than success stories. I think it’s cursed. For every Carrie Underwood, it seems that there’s at least 3 embarrassing rejects. Former Idol alum Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks’ runner up, has recently joined that category. Through a MySpace bulletin to his “friends”, Blake says that he is sorry to inform everyone with bad news. Apparently, his tour has been cut short due to his management and label as he claims that he is in the process of finding both new management and a new label. In other words, he got dropped. He also apologized to his fans and to everyone who bought tickets. I didn’t even know he was on tour.
After 10 long years, MTV’s Total Request Live will be going off the air. On Monday, TRL executive producer Dave Sirulnick said that the final episode will take place on a Saturday afternoon in November. He did make it a point to say that it wasn’t going to be gone forever though. He said that now would be a good time to give the show a break. Oh please, they’re probably just trying to make more room for senseless reality shows. I hardly see videos on MTV anymore. TRL originally debuted back in September 2008 with Carson Daly as the host. He better be on the last show! And NSYNC needs to reunite to say goodbye to the show too!
Is Queen Latifah coming out of the closet via her new album? The rapper is often spotted out with her so-called trainer Jeanette Jenkins which sparked rumors of a relationship. Coming this December, the Queen will release her latest album. In a recent interview, she joked that she was thinking of naming the record ‘The L Word’. She said during the interview “Since people want to play games, I like to jab back sometimes just for fun, but I’m like, ‘Nah, that’s too much energy wasted.’” I don’t think that joking about your sexuality is a laughing matter. I think she should just open up and be honest straight up.
According to a new report, terrorists have proclaimed that they will harm Sir Paul McCartney if he move forward with his upcoming first ever concert in Israel. Yikes! Extremists have threatened that they will unleash suicide bombers Paul’s way should he go on with his plans. A preacher of hate named Omar Bakri claimed that the former Beatle’s decisions to take part in the concert, which is part of the Jewish state’s 60th anniversary celebration, had made him an enemy of all Muslims. Insiders report that Sir Paul was shocked when he heard about the threats but that he refuses to be intimidated.
According to a new report, Alicia Keys could be named as the other woman in the divorce of hip hop producer Swizz Beatz and R&B singer Mashonda. The soon-to-be former Mrs. Swizz apparently lost it when she heard about the birthday party that Alicia threw for Swizz at the Manhattan Louis Vuitton store last week. A friend of the producer told the media “His relationship with Alicia began after their separation. He hasn’t kept it a secret. He still has great love for Mashonda and has promised to take care of her and their son and support her career.” Mashonda says otherwise though. A friend says “Mashonda has had enough. She put her career on hold to be a wife and mother. She’s tired of pretending she’s deaf, dumb and blind to what’s going on. She can’t believe how disrespectful Alicia is being.”

MTV host Russell Brand has recently been forced to make an apology for making nasty remarks and imitating Jonas Brothers during the MTV VMA 2008.
Russell Brand spent more than half of the show mocking the Jonas Brothers for their purity rings and their promise not to have sex before marriage.
Brand said, “I’ve gotta say sorry because I said those things about promise rings; that was bad of me. I didn’t mean to take it lightly.”
And further added, “I love Jonas Brothers, I think it’s (purity) really good. I don’t want to piss off teenage fans… Promise rings, I’m well up for it, well done everyone.”
But couldn’t keep the ultimate crack in his mouth, “It’s just, a bit of sex occasionally never hurt anybody.”

L.A.M.B. founder Gwen Stefani will launch an exclusive line of uniforms for W Hotels bar staff, according to People.
“Gwen Stefani was in our lounge last season, and through that relationship she’s doing uniforms for the [Rande] Gerber bars located in W Hotels,” said Jenni Benzaquen, director of public relations for W Hotels.
The No Doubt vocalist that she “wanted to design a super cute dress that I would be excited to have in my own closet and approached it in the same way I think about my clothing for a tour. We’ve designed a sexy and comfortable outfit for these women to wear out on their own stage every night.”

I’ve often talked about how Miley Cyrus doesn’t look or act the way any 15-year old should. But who am I to speak? I don’t have any authority. However, someone that does have some in one way or the other recently dissed the Hannah Montana star to OK! magazine. Project Runway fashion guru Tim Gunn said “[Miley Cyrus] is just a little too tarty, forgive me. I don’t want her to look like she’s going into a convent school, but it’s just a little too much for a 15-year-old. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear she was 25!” He said it, not me.
