She talks about a lot of things like Vanity Fair, fans being shut out of her last tour, Hannah Montana, acting in a flick not related to Disney or Hannah Montana, on being a role model, but the most interesting part for me was when she talked about her new album and her songwriting. She says “It’s grown-up. I wrote all the songs except two… I wrote my first song when I was probably 7–it was called ‘Pink.’ That shows what kind of song it was about—it’s about the color pink. But you know what, darn it, I wrote it and I’ve been writing since I was my little sister’s age.” She tries so hard to be an artist.
The country version of American Idol, Nashville Star, wanted the Pussycat Dolls to perform on Monday’s show but they instead wound up with their lingerie-clad, gyrating, girl group clone Danity Kane. Sources say that, as of last Thursday, PCD confirmed that they would perform on the show as part of that night’s ‘Pop Goes Country’ theme and their participation already started to get promoted. Then on Friday, Interscope tried to get PCD’s tween label mates Clique Girlz, booked on the show. That didn’t sit well with Nashville Star so they instead got Danity Kane on the show. If you ask me, getting the Clique Girlz would have been a better move.
Avril Lavigne’s fans are shamelessly cheating their way to the top! My most hated Canadian singer’s fans are deceptively working to drive the video for ‘Girlfriend’ to YouTube’s most watched top spot – the #1 most viewed video of all time. The top spot currently belongs to the ‘History of Dance’ clip. Avril fans have sent out emails to people getting them to watch Avril’s video as many times as possible and they have even set up automated YouTube view-boosting sites. The pages automatically reload the video every 15 seconds to rack up as many hits as possible. Honestly, they’re doing absolutely nothing but making her look lamer than she already is.
Singer/musician Kate Voegele recently stopped by MTV’s Total Request Live at the MTV Times Square Studios in New York City on Monday. The 21-year old is currently signed on to MySpace Records which is distributed by Interscope Records. Her debut album ‘Don’t Look Away’ was released in May of last year. Her band mates include Mark Tobik on bass and Sam Getz on guitar. This year, Kate will be opening for Natasha Bedingfield and The Veronicas on the Verizon VIP tour. Apart from her singing, Kate is also well known for her guest spots on the popular CW show, ‘One Tree Hill’.
Amy Winehouse may have gotten out of the hospital on Monday but not before she got diagnosed with emphysema. Wino’s date talked to the press about the severity of her illness saying “The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs it won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her. The doctors have said that if she had continued the way she was going she could have ended up an invalid — she wouldn’t have been able to breathe… If she doesn’t go back to drugs, then she can lead this magnificent life. We are praying that that’s what Amy really wants. She seems resolute.”

Timbaland got married again at the weekend. The record producer – who officially tied the knot with long-term partner Monique Idlett earlier this month – had a lavish ceremony yesterday in the Caribbean island of Aruba in front of hundreds of guests.
An onlooker said: “It was a beautiful day and it confirmed their love for each other.”
Missy Elliot and singer Keri Hilson, who worked with Timbaland on his single ‘Scream’, were among the guests who had received feather-filled clear invitations.
When the couple first tied the knot on June 10, they opted for a low-key ceremony and wore sweat pants as they secretly wed in front of a family pastor in a Virginia church.

The 20-year old R&B singer and Ne-Yo were special guests who joined the lineup for the night on Alicia Keys’ ‘As I Am’ tour. It’s most likely that the duo performed their hit ‘Hate that I Love You’. Alicia’s tour has been building upon the success of her latest album ‘As I Am’. Add Rihanna and Ne-Yo into the mix and we’re guaranteed a hot show from start to finish. I wish I was there to see all three R&B hit makers together.
Some people are really pissed at MTV. Reports are saying that the MTV offices in Mumbai, India had its windows smashed with rocks, banners torn and some furniture damaged on Monday. 70 Sikh protesters reportedly targeted the office because they found MTV posters for a show which featured a Sikh girl massaging a man quite offensive. The protesters were arrested and have since been released on bail. An MTV lawyer said that no one was injured in the so-called attack and that they would consider the protesters demands to remove the offending posters. They should just take them down so nothing violent would happen again.
Amy Winehouse could be kept in hospital ‘for weeks’ in a bid to get her off drugs. The troubled singer’s family are reportedly set to do ‘whatever it takes’ to get Amy clean and she may even be detained without her permission.
The 24-year-old star has been in hospital since Monday after collapsing at home and her worried relatives are hoping the medical drama will shock the singer into quitting drugs.
A source said: “She will be in there for a while if her family get their way. There is a feeling they can have a good attempt at sorting her out this time.”
Amy’s dad Mitch – who has been keeping a vigil at his daughter’s bedside – said yesterday: “Amy is doing fine. She is staying in as long as possible.”
Her spokesperson said: “She will stay for as long as they can find out what’s wrong with her. I don’t know what’s wrong with her and the doctors don’t seem to. There are various possibilities. It’s probably something to do with her ongoing treatment. She is staying there for the time being. They are still not quite sure what happened and the tests were inconclusive.”
The singer collapsed after a massive drugs overdose last summer and her health problems – including an irregular heartbeat – are believed to have stemmed from that.
Last week, The Setai, a luxury hotel/residence in Miami Beach, announced the opening of The Setai Recording Studio – a state of the art digital and analog recording facility created by Kravitz Design Inc. The president of which is none other than rocker Lenny Kravitz. Of the project, the singer said “In building The Setai Recording Studio, we brought everything we’ve learned throughout our careers in performing and recording to create an environment that supports and encourages the making of music.” The 2,500 square foot studio is reportedly outfitted with the industry’s premiere equipment for both analog and digital recording. Since its pre-opening, a lot of the music industry’s finest have recorded in the space including Timbaland, Chris Cornell, Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z and Wyclef Jean.
Justin Timberlake’s ‘package’ was digitally altered in new movie ‘The Love Guru’ – because it was too big. The film’s director, and Justin’s co-star, Mike Myers revealed the ‘SexyBack’ singer left cast and crew stunned when he stepped on to set in a pair of tight Speedo swimming trunks which left nothing to the imagination.
He said: “What is amazing about the Speedo is that they have to do a lot of special effects to reduce the size. Oh, yeah – you heard it here first, folks!”
Mike also admitted he developed a man crush on Justin while they shot the film, which also stars new mom Jessica Alba. When asked if he was harbouring feelings for the 27-year-old star, Mike replied: “I will confirm that, yes!”
Justin recently revealed he felt confident in the tight trunks in the hilarious scene but found it tough when they became wedged between his buttocks.
He said: “This may be too much information but I was constantly digging out those wedgies. I work out pretty diligently. At the time I was on tour, I worked on this film for 10 days. I was on tour so I was in shape.”

The Disney Channel original movie will premiere on The Disney Channel on Friday, June 20. 18-year old Joe plays the male protagonist of the film Shane Gray. He is the lead singer of the band Connect Three who was sent off to teach at camp after a series of tabloid antics. 15-year old Nick plays Nate, the guitarist and vocalist of Connect Three. He is the practical and sometimes bossy one of the band and was the one who suggested that Shane go to camp. 20-year old Kevin plays Jason, the lead guitarist of Connect Three who is considered the airhead of the band.
Nick Cannon got to touch his wife Mariah Carey’s lovely curves to help her dry off after she shot her ‘I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time’ music video at the O’ahu Sealife Park in Hawaii on Monday. The video is for the curvaceous diva’s third single off her new album ‘E=MC²’. Rapper TI will be featured in a remix to the song and was also rumored to have been in Hawaii to join Mariah in filming the music video to the song. I wonder if she’ll come out with two videos, one for the original version and one for the remix.

Of singing in front of a packed house at an NBA Playoff game, David says, “The nerves are way worse. It’s the one song you don’t want to mess up. I’m going to try not to notice Jack Nicholson sitting in the front row and think about the lyrics.”

While we all see the very cute and lovable side of the singer, she reveals that she can be very much unladylike. Carrie says “I don’t consider myself sexy…I’m kind of a nervous person in general. I’m socially awkward. I’m not tall and sensuous. I usually wear sweats everywhere I go. Oh, and I burp a lot.” She also talked about “love mistakes she’ll never repeat” saying “Cheating is a deal breaker — If you cheat, you’re gone.” I think it’s an unnamed hit on Chace Crawford.
Gavin Rossdale says his wife Gwen Stefani finds pregnancy “tough”. Gwen, who already has a two-year-old son Kingston with the rocker, has been feeling very tired as she copes with the demands of expecting her second child.
He said: “It was difficult at first. Gwen really wasn’t well and it was tough for her. She was just really tired and was suffering, which is kind of sad in a way. I mean, isn’t it enough that nature distorts your body and stretches and squashes your organs?”
However, Gavin insists Gwen is now coping much better since she has reached her third trimester. He added: “She is really blossoming now and she’s in a great space. I’m just trying to be right there for her and trying to help her through it. It’s not easy to be pregnant.”
He also said his wife – a fashion icon and clothes designer as well as a pop star – is set on regaining her pre-pregnancy figure once the baby is born, saying: “She does feel pressure. I mean, she’s just so dedicated and she’s just amazing with that stuff. It’s very hard because everyone’s so judged the whole time.”
Gavin also has another child, 18-year-old model Daisy Lowe, with fashion designer Pearl Lowe – news which only came to light after a paternity test in 2004.
As if Miley Cyrus playing Hannah Montana isn’t sweet enough, country cutie Taylor Swift has signed on to be in Hannah Montana: The Movie as well.
Taylor says, “I’m making a cameo, so I’m so excited about that. I’m playing one of my own songs and just in the background of one of the scenes. I’m just like the bar band, which is kinda fun.”
Taylor goes on to express how much she’s looking forward to the spot. “I’m just really excited about it because it’s really cool when some of my little fans will come up with a Hannah Montana shirt on, and I want to be like, ‘Guess what? I get to be in that movie with her!’”
The blonde singer has sparked further rumors the group are to disband after confirming she is collaborating with nu-ravers Filthy Dukes for the soundtrack of forthcoming film ‘Wild Child’.
A friend of the star said: “She was thrilled to be approached and recognized as a singer in her own right. The ‘Wild Child’ soundtrack is a pretty cool album with some big names on it including Rihanna, Robbie Williams and Nelly Furtado, so it promises to be a springboard to other things.”

She has never talked about it before but that’s all changing now. Alanis Morissette became an internet sensation when she decided to do a piano-only version of the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘My Humps’. She even made a parody video for it which has been seen on YouTube by almost 15 million people. When it first hit the net, the singer was hounded about it but she refused to talk about it. In the new issue of The Advocate, Alanis reveals that it all came from a brainstorming session with Guy Sigsworth wherein she said “I wish I could just write a really simple song—a song like ‘My Humps.’” One pregnant pause later and they were recording a piano version of it.
