Amy Winehouse to record? No…No…No

Amy Winehouse has cancelled plans to begin recording her third album – leaving industry chiefs fearing there will be no new LP from her this year.
Island Records booked the singer a trip to the Bahamas to begin her follow-up to smash hit Back To Black with producer Saleem Remi.
The no-expense spared venture last month was going to be Amy’s first attempt to start laying down an album for almost two years. But she pulled the plug on the trip at the last minute.
I suppose she’s not a girl you can rush, unless you dangle some of her beloved fizzy sherbet in front of her.
A pal revealed: “Island wanted to get her away from it all and thought it would be great surroundings for her. It was a very expensive trip and it was hoped they would make some decent progress recording the album. But Amy pulled out at the last minute. The album was planned for late 2008, but her label is now privately admitting it’s unlikely to happen until 2009. She’s not the kind of artist you can just stick in the studio for a month and get an album done. And I now think early 2009 would be a good result.”
And there might be another thing holding up progress. Wino has managed to find herself another addiction – ironing.
She’s been going flat out at her new obsession and ironing everything she can get her hands on in her home in Camden, North London.
A pal revealed: “She has become absolutely obsessed with ironing things. Not just her clothes but also towels, sheets, scarves. Anything really. She’s a very obsessive person and has always been addicted to something. We’ve had cannabis, cocaine, crack, heroin and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil. All the others have been rather more destructive, apart from knitting, which she has also had an on/off love affair with. But ironing is definitely her new favourite.”
Now all she needs is to develop an addiction to recording to keep her bosses happy. And an addiction to washing the clothes first wouldn’t hurt.
