If anyone knows anything about the deaf community you will realise that they too can appreciate music; just in perhaps a different way to those with able hearing. The movie “It’s all gone Pete Tong” demonstrates just this.KT Tunstall appreciates this more than many musicians; having a profoundly deaf brother. She has now revealed she would like to write some music for her younger sibling, Daniel, and find out scientifically what would be really pleasing to him.

KT said, “He loves beats. He tells me about these brilliant deaf raves he has been to, where all hearing aids come out and the volume is turned up.”

Daniel, who had a cochlear implant fitted a few years ago to help him hear pitch, has started joining KT on stage during her shows. She says, “He played drums on stage at my last party. He is inspiring, he has absolutely flown in the face of adversity.”

Many people know KD Lang as one of the most gifted female singers of the era. Some people know her as the grinch. The singer was spotted doing some last minute Christmas shopping at The Grove in Los Angeles on Sunday looking like a big old scoop of bah humbug.

Kathryn Dawn Lang wore some form fitting jeans, a lovely cotton coat, a t-shirt and a face clearly portraying holiday jeer. She doesn’t choose to hide it either when she told a photographer that she “hates Christmas”. So why do the shopping for it? Oh right. That whole Scrooge thing.

Joss has been single since 2005 but a source said, “she’s not missing a man when she can snuggle up to her adorable dogs.”

And in the past Joss has joked that man trouble may cause her to become a lesbian. But we can rest in the knowledge that she is still young, and comfortable enough to not need a man … not when Dusty and Missy are around to keep her company anyway.

I can now tell you just why R Kelly did not show for a court date in Chicago earlier this week. And no, it’s because he was sick like Britney Spears. He was actually left of the side of a Utah highway without a ride after his tour bus got stopped by the police.Police sources in Utah say that the singer’s four tour buses were stopped after they were spotted going over 100 mph. After a couple of other checks, the buses were ordered taken out of service which left the passengers to their own devices of finding a ride.

Season 6’s 29-year old Chris Sligh will be the headliner at the alcohol-free First Night Westerly celebration by singing at least one song a the local YMCA. If Sligh isn’t enough entertainment for you, they also have face painting, mimes and a karate demo. Tickets cost $10 before Christmas but sell for $14 after Christmas.

Just because she went and got herself a nose job doesn’t mean that she can break many hearts whenever she wants to. But Ashley Tisdale did just that in South Florida on Saturday night.

The Disney star was scheduled to take part at the Y100 Jingle Ball as a performer but she cancelled at the last minute. Apparently, she was in too much pain to perform. If you have work commitments scheduled, why would you get a nose job a week prior to the gig?

Fortunately, Nelly Furtado showed up unannounced and surprised everyone by joining Timbaland on stage for a performance of their hit ‘Give It to Me’.

Ok from surprise nuptials to secret ones. Nelly Furtado was spotted partying at Miami’s Y100 Jingle Ball on Saturday wearing a gold band on her wedding finger.

The engagement between her and Cuban sound engineer Demacio “Demo” Castellon was revealed in July.

A source is quoted as saying: “Nelly was partying backstage with Natasha Bedingfield and Timbaland. She was so happy and there was no missing the gold band on her finger. Natasha took her hand and looked at it and then hugged her and whispered something in her ear. It looked like she was congratulating her.”

All I can say is congratulations Nelly. And who can blame them if they really did do it in secret…not everyone is up for the big celebrity wedding of the Jordan and Peter style.

Z100’s Jingle Ball was held on Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was attended by some of the hottest stars and featured some great performances from them as well.Avril Lavigne and Alicia Keys are only two artists who performed at the event. Both of them did great. I have no question about Alicia Keys, she always does great. Avril Lavigne is another case because she’s been known to be flaky but I guess she’s got the holiday spirit and actually did a good set.

A lot of other artists took to the stage. A debut was even made – Ashley Tisdale’s new nose!

The death of Ike Turner has got the music industry talking about the loss of another legend. But they also happen to talk about the late music legend’s ex-wife who, incidentally, is a music legend in her own right.Tina Turner’s rep issued a statement regarding the death of her former husband some time after his death was reported saying “Tina is aware that Ike passed away earlier today. She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made.” It may sound harsh. But for those that don’t know, Ike was very abusive towards Tina. That should explain the coldness.

It was a bit of a shock to the room full of fans when Tori Amos launched a verbal attack on two gig-goers at her show in San Diego on Wednesday. Personally I don’t blame her. As a fan myself; if I had front row tickets I would be glued to my seat.

But the two girls in question obviously didn’t feel the same. And when they persistently left and returned to their seats in the Copley Symphony Hall the star of the show had them removed.

Amos was so infuriated she stopped mid-song Code Red and yelled; “Get the f**k out of my show! It’s a privilege to sit in the front row and I reserve those seats for people who appreciate music, get the f**k out!”

Some might say it was typical Diva behaviour but personally I applaud her. But only because I wish I had the girls’ seats instead.

Lindsay Lohan has been out of rehab for a while already and I guess she found it the right time to get back to work. Sources are saying that the troubled redhead is hard at work on another album. And you’ll never guess who she’s working with – JR Rotem!

Yup. Lindsay is working with the same music producer that reportedly hooked up with Britney Spears and is also responsible for the pop wreck’s commercial failure of an album ‘Blackout’. Is this really a smart move?

Lindsay and JR were spotted together in LA on Monday and by next week they’ll be in each others pants.

Poor Rihanna is poorly. No one really knows what is wrong with her but it seems her UK tour could be in jeopardy after she pulled three of the gigs on doctors orders.

So far, the US R&B superstar cancelled gigs in Nottingham on Saturday and Birmingham on Monday. She has also postponed the gig in Bournemouth tonight.

In a statement, Rihanna said she “appreciates the love and support of all her fans and wants nothing more than to see and connect with them.”

The 2007 Movies Rock: A Celebration of Music in Film show was aired last Friday where the hottest stars of today sing some very memorable songs from movies of yesterday. Everyone got to see R&B sensation Chris Brown give another kick ass performance when he shook his hips to the Elvis Presley song ‘Jailhouse Rock’. That song coincided with the released of the Elvis motion picture of the same name.

Chris wasn’t the only famous person on stage during the performance though. Daniel ‘Cloud’ Campos joined Chris on stage. He may not be famous but he’s semi-famous. He’s actually one of Madonna’s regular back up dancers.

The people of Jackson, Mississippi want R&B singer Brandy to be the Grand Marshal of their parade but want no part of her brother Ray J. Vehicular manslaughter charges versus semi-pro pornographer – yeah, I see which one weighs heavier. Apparently, they don’t.

The Clarion-Ledger reports that the City of Jackson officially had to ditch Ray J as a Grand Marshal of its annual Christmas parade after a press release came out on Tuesday that he’d be in the lead car with his sister. But Jackson Mayor Frank Melton assured that Ray J will be with him and not in the Grand Marshal car with Brandy.

How do you go from performing for a crowd of nearly 20,000 fans at the Staples Center on Wednesday night to performing for a crowd of less than 200 the following evening? Well, ask Mel C aka Sporty Spice that.

Mel C did an acoustic show at The Mint in Los Angeles on Thursday night were she met with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. She gave out a couple of tidbits regarding how she feels about the Spice Girls reunion saying that while she was hesitant about it, she can’t deny that she’s having a blast. She’s doing it for all the right reasons and that’s because she loves music.

Mel also said that she hopes to do more solo gigs in the US.

Lily Allen has begun working on the follow-up to her debut album but this time around, the Brit singer is doing some things a little bit differently. I guess when you get a new body, everything else has to be new too.

Despite getting a lot of help from DJ/producer Mark Ronson on her first album, Lily has decided to part ways with him. Mark says “Lily has been working on her new album, but I’m probably not going to be on it as she hasn’t been returning any of my calls. Most of the people I work with, I’m lucky enough to be friends with too. But then you never really know what’s going to happen after.”

Sources say that Lily is upset with Mark because he “tried to take too much credit” for the success of her album.

After being on a hiatus, it’s no surprise that it takes some time for a megastar to get back in the swing of things. So it is with Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton.She writes on the group’s blog, “I’m getting more confident singing live, but during ‘Mama’ I got so carried away looking at the video playing behind us of all the mothers and babies that I forgot some of the lyrics!”

She says she’s feeling less nervous now and is really starting to let loose during the shows. She wants to be more like Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown – confident and fun. “She has a thing for pinching our bottoms…which makes us all giggle!” says Baby.

After several misses on the red carpet, starting when she wore a gold vest at the Academy Awards, Jennifer Hudson and her stylist did something right when the singer/actress wore a black Michael Kors dress on the carpet and went white on stage at ‘Movies Rock: A Celebration of Music in Film’ which was held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday.

When Jennifer took the stage, the 26-year old ‘Dreamgirl’ got to experience being a Bond girl when she and Black Eyed Peas front woman Fergie put their special touches on the songs ‘Live and Let Die’ and ‘Goldfinger’ from the James Bond films.
