Many have tried but few have succeeded in the world of comebacks. Britney Spears failed while Kylie Minogue rises to the occasion.
The Australian singer got X-rated when she went to Paris on Monday. The cancer survivor celebrated the release of her new album ‘X’ which comes out this week by having a signing at the Virgin Megastore.
And she has more to celebrate about because her single ‘2 Hearts’ earned her another record in the UK. Kylie now have 30 Top 10 singles in the UK. Wow! Now that’s a comeback! It definitely makes up for not having her around for a while.

Since when did being hometown heroes become overrated? The Spice Girls comeback tour is a big deal in the US but back on their original side of the pond, the grass isn’t as green.
When their tour was first announced and tickets went on sale, tickets ‘sold out’ in London in 38 seconds. But the Daily Record is now reporting that tickets that once cost 85 are now selling for £25.
It’s a good thing the girls can still count on the US. If you search tickets on eBay, they’re selling way above face value. America really loves their British imports.

Thanksgiving is over for everyone and while most have a lot to be thankful for, Britney has one less thing on her list. Because if the numbers are anything to go by, the pop wreck is not thankful for the support of the record-buying public. It’s minimal.
FOX News is reporting that ‘Blackout’ is not a certified flop as it has only sold a total of 430,000 copies after a whole month of release and it’s going nowhere fast. While that number is still pretty high compared to some of the more obscure artists, well, Britney’s hardly obscure. And consider that each of her first 3 albums sold over 10 million copies, the first 2 selling more than 20 million, and the fourth sold 609,000 in its first week of release.
It’s over.

The writers’ strike is still going on and more and more stars are showing their support. However, I’m a little confused when it comes to Alicia Keys because just moments after she pumped out the crowd by screaming “let’s walk!”, the singer walked straight to her car.
Alicia took some time to perform a set to get protesters all riled up. She then shouted out her support and made it seem like she was going to join in the march like many others have but instead, she made a beeline to her waiting SUV.
It was still cool of her to show up and sing though.

No matter the success her album has achieved nor the accolades she received, Avril Lavigne is having trouble selling tickets for her 2008 tour. Tickets recently went on sale and a concert industry source pretty much said that sales are bombing.
Avril is set to play amphitheaters, arenas and theaters. Some tickets are selling for as little at $14 but she’s still having a hard time selling them. Sources are saying that it’s because she’s starting her tour late. Her tour starts on March 2008 but the album she’s doing the tour for was released April 2007.
If she cancels, it’ll be like Kelly Clarkson all over again.

Bono and The Edge from U2, decided to go to a small event organized to raise funds for children and matures with learning disorders.
A pleasant gesture prepared by the two band members. It seems like the other two didn’t want to some…maybe they needed some honorary to show up and perform in front of the small crowd of 250 people that attended the event. No one knew they were going to be there, people were really shocked to see them and they took pictures like crazy, for many of those present this was a lifetime opportunity.
I don’t know the real reason why they decided to do this, but they certainly brought some good publicity their way, especially during this period when the group is right in a middle of a flat line.

I don’t know whether GQ magazine people just couldn’t make up their minds or the three men they’re featuring on three separate Men of the Year covers really ended up on a deadlock. The issue will hit newsstands on November 27 and the three covers you can choose from are Bill Clinton’s, Daniel Craig’s and Kanye West’s.
While Kanye doesn’t talk about his mother in the magazine but he does discuss the possibility of marriage to his fiancé Alexis Phifer. He said “I’m just going to go and get married. I’m not going to make a big deal out of it. It’s not to prove anything to anyone — it’s for me, for stability in my life, and I’m so happy that I found someone that I really love, that challenges me, that keeps my life interesting, that’s just as crazy as I am.”

I’m not sure if it’s a steering wheel or the Mercedes Benz emblem, but either way, that’s just whacked! Apparently, hip hop artists Akon and Ludacris have so much money in their hands that even their camels have some bling going on.The two stars were photographed just outside of Dubai to promoted their first Middle East performance which is also the launch pad for MTV Arabia.
I wonder if Middle Eastern music fans would get the concept of the blinged out camels. Because honestly, I don’t get why they had to do that. It’s one of the more stupid things to me.

Popular Australian singer Missy Higgins has let the cat out of the bag and herself out of the closet. She appeared on the front cover of a national lesbian magazine Cherrie and told that she is not straight while telling readers that she believes that sexuality is a “fluid thing”. Whatever that means.
Speculation over her sexuality first came out after she released her 2004 chart-topping single ‘Scar’ which was rumored to have been about her bisexuality. However, she has never commented about the meaning of the song and so the rumors just kept swirling.
The 24-year old singer explains that she’s a shy person and it’s hard to talk about personal stuff in public but due to the growing acceptance of sexual diversity in the music industry, she felt comfortable enough to out herself now and she’s proud of it.

Publicist Monique Idlett gave birth to a baby girl just a few days ago, making rapper and producer Timbaland a very proud father. Awe! The couple has known each other for many years and; after a romantic proposal at the couples baby shower in October, plan to be wed early next year.
Ok so what happened to the theory that all rappers are bad men; not to be involved with? I want me one of Timbaland thank you very much. He is a proud father and has done the honorable thing and proposed to the mother of his child. Not like that scummy Eddy Murphy who not only dumps his missus live on TV; now he refuses to even meet his child. Bah!
Congratulations to Timbaland and good luck with those diapers! Let’s just hope he can teach the little one better grammar than his last song; “The Way I Are”.

Surprise! Surprise! Pete Doherty is at it again! After promising to clean up his act for the millionth time, Doherty was caught snorting “line after line” of cocaine. Once again there is video footage of the troubled rocker getting high. He reportedly chops up five lines of white powder and snorts it through a piece of paper. Surprise what surprise, I think the title is wrong and it should have been, yet another confirmation of Pete doing drugs. What really surprises me is that when there is a statement for the reps or the celeb himself saying that he is come out clean – that is when I am most surprised. The guy is a lost cause. We should completely forget about these drug snorting singers because they are not worth even talking about, they charge us hundreds of dollars for their concert tickets and then the whole hole they earn from ticket and album sales is put down the drain and in return we get to see gigs that are not worth the money spent.

Amy Winehouse parties so hard during tour that her tour manager just can’t hang with her anymore. Thom Stone has reportedly quit as her tour manager because he is worried about that Amy is ruining his health. I think this chap has done the right thing, there is a dignity factor to every job one is doing, be it if one is a sweeper or a celebrity manager there has to be some work ethics that should be followed. He has seen enough of her to decide that enough is enough and he is not going to take this shit of her doing drugs and then going on stage to perform. This girl, Amy has a great voice ok, but there’s no point when she is ruining herself that the manager has to sit with her see take drugs right front of him and then he has to give her some basic instruction for the gig and she is in no condition to listen to him because she is so high that there nothing working in her brains. She’s at that point that it would be better if she just doesn’t go on stage because she is such a mess.

It seems that any veteran recording artist eventually winds up recording their own holiday album, so it makes perfect sense that Rick Springfield finally got around to releasing his own in 2007 with Christmas with You. Apart from the original title song, Springfield relies on standards here, with traditional carols far outweighing relatively recent secular holiday tunes; in fact, only “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” can qualify in the latter category. Springfield not only sticks to the classics, he gives many of these spare, baroque acoustic treatments that emphasize their folk origin. These stark arrangements combined with the clean production can give Christmas with You almost a new age feel, but Springfield’s raspy voice prevents this from getting spacy, and he does cut loose on a surf music version of “Deck the Halls” (thereby earning the subtitle “With Boughs of Longboards”) and gives “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” a bit of a goofy doo wop feel. The album could use just a little bit more of this dose of fun, but in its measured, inventive way, Christmas with You is far from the standard holiday album, and it’s hard not to admire that Springfield opted for something different on his Christmas record than the same warm, toasty arrangements of the same songs that show up on most seasonal albums by veteran artists.

Rihanna was spotted checking out of Hotel de la Tremoille in Paris, France on Monday but it wasn’t to leave the place completely but just to make her way down Avenue Montaigne.
The R&B singer took a break from performing as she did in the French capital the night prior as she made her way around several designer boutiques. Her stops included Chanel and Louis Vuitton. She was also seen checking out her Blackberry Curve in between shopping sessions.
I guess she’s just keeping up with her reputation of looking completely fabulous just as she did that day. She has to live up to it.

Rapper Kanye West and his family want to reach out to his fans and thank them for their support during this tragic time. Look Kanye, everyone who knows you and everyone who doesn’t know has come out at this tragic time to support you and your family. I hope that this gives you a fair idea of the heart and soul this country puts in it’s people at the time when it is required most but not excepted from any quarter. What I mean here is I think the time is apt for you to make an image makeover from being a wild person who uses rap music to spread bad lyrics and use abusive language in his songs to sell the music to a young audience who think it is punk and hip use the kind of music you make to show off as a lifestyle statement. Please kindly go a bit sober and stop the use of the f word and nude words in your lyrics from mow on coz what’s happening will continue but if a leader of the rap world shall promise to do away with such lyrics then I am it will have a great impact on the music scene.

No, I’m not talking about Posh and Becks. I’m talking about Grammy award-winning singer Beck. The long-haired musician got himself a new place to call home for the whopping price of $7 million. He’s no loser after all.
Hot Property is saying that Beck and his wife Marissa Ribisi (the sister of Giovanni Ribisi) were able to score a 5,700-square foot West Hollywood pad that was just recently redesigned. But it still wasn’t enough as Beck decided to redesign the redesign. The couple hasn’t moved in yet but we know that when they do, the place will be as they want it to be.

Scottish star K.T. Tunstall has lashed out at award-winning country singer Carrie Underwood – for winning a Grammy award. The American Idol winner took home a Grammy for best new artist in February– but Tunstall is unimpressed by her fast-track to fame. Guess she should also be upset with her fans (is she has any)I’m sure they are singing her songs. How dare anyone sing another persons song (note the sarcasm). I don’t believe it was even Carrie who sang her song. Dolly Parton was very pleased when Whitney sang “I will always love you.” She needs to grow up and get over herself! Actually, K.T. gave her permission for AI to use her song, and for Katharine to sing it. She’s thanked Katharine publicly, because that performance caused her version of the song to jump on the Billboard charts. Her problem is with the show itself, and now, apparently, with Carrie. I guess K.T. can be a little opinionated—–

Depends on where the fans are at in their own lives, and whether they follow Plumb more for her sound or the heart expressed through her songwriting. Blink is definitely softer than the modern rock of her previous efforts, but it is exactly the sort of lullaby album you could imagine her making, relying more on gentle programmed pop ambience than harps and strings. The gorgeous opener “Sweet and Lovely” is cut from the same cloth as an ethereal Sarah McLachlan ballad like “I Love You,” while the straightforward hymn covers (“Children of the Heavenly Father,” “God Will Take Care of You”) resemble material from Christmas and worship albums by Rebecca St. James and Natalie Grant.
Yes, the album can help lull little ones to sleep, particularly “Solomon’s Song,” based on the very tune Plumb hummed to her own firstborn. But she takes many of these lullabies further than sweet dream sentiments through songs reminding us how parental love for children mirrors God’s love for us, with subjects ranging from self-sacrifice (“Me”) and enjoying moments while they last (“Blink”) to love’s endurance of all things (“In My Arms”) and its perseverance beyond time (“Always”).
Blink puts an appealingly modern spin on lullabies for today’s generation of moms, but it’s going to seem too motherly for the teens and young adults expecting guitars and angst. This is not the Plumb most people are familiar with, but it does accurately represent the place from which Plumb is writing music today, and that should still count for something even if the album won’t appeal to everyone in the same way.

After postponing her concert in San Diego on October 24th due to the wildfires, Jennifer Lopez has canceled the rescheduled concert in San Diego this coming weekend. The date was supposed to be the last show of her joint tour with husband Marc Anthony but it never happened. The tour ended in Miami this week.
It seems like the Latina singer is just so over doing those dance moves with her growing belly. The concert promoters, Live Nation, tried to cover it up by saying that the cancellation was due to the wildfires. Just admit it, she’s too pregnant to perform!
