U2’s two front men Bono and The Edge have been chosen to lead the team behind the musical version of Spider-Man. The show is still in development but the two men will work on the score and lyrics while the mind behind ‘The Lion King’, Julie Taymor is set to be the director.

Things are steadily moving along and it is reported that the production team is looking for a space. Taymor is quoted in saying that “It’s a big extravaganza which needs a huge theater.” With Bono’s presence alone, you definitely need a huge theater.

Troubled soul diva Amy Winehouse has had her spirits lifted for her in the shape of a song written for her by Pete Doherty.

The Babyshambles frontman can obviously sympathize with Winehouse, given her numerous attempts to get straight and her reported drug overdose.

The song is reportedly called “Amy On The Mend” and was sent to her in a frame signed “Love, Pete,” in time for her 24th birthday.

According to London’s Daily Star, the song contains the line: “Amy on the mend, all that passion to spend/Like a paper Boadicea in a battle to the end, end, end.”

The beats by Dre and the lyrics by Eminem make Curtis who he is. A lot of Rappers are terrible and a lot of singers are terrible. They just don’t know it. And acting is not the answer either. Some of the roles are terrible also. But such is life.

Country singer Reba McEntire has been chosen as ‘woman of the year’ by US music magazine Billboard. “I am touched to be embraced in such a warm way,” McEntire, 52, said. It is the first time Billboard has given such an award. Reba is an inspiration to women everywhere, but it is sad that there are a very few female singers who can match her achievement, she been clean all her life and is a role model to the young generation of female artist who dream of making it big but most often lose their way in the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry. Girls come to the music world thinking that they can replicate her success, but often they are flash in the pan and easily get sucked into the hole that looks so merry and fun from the outside but once they enter it, it’s a nightmare that’s never seemingly going to end.

The Backstreet Boys are most definitely back as they just released the music video for their first single as a foursome, ‘Inconsolable’ which is from their upcoming album ‘Unbreakable’. Their new album will be dropping in on October 30.

The single is a piano driven power ballad which proudly shows off that the boys, now men, still have it. I’m kind of sad for Howie Dorough though as he’s the only member of the band without a solo in the song. Now that Kevin Richardson is out of the band, he’s the odd one out when it comes to vocals.

Nevertheless, it’s a pretty good song with a pretty good video.

TMZ.com first reported that one Gerald Rechnitzer is alleging that Diddy hit him in the jaw between 2 and 2:30 AM on February 25 as he was leaving a post-Oscar party at Teddy’s nightclub in Hollywood. According to the legal papers, Diddy got angry when the complainant’s girlfriend wouldn’t leave with the music mogul and his entourage. The suit also claims that Combs pushed Rechnitzer’s girlfriend and spit at another female member of their group.

50 Cent’s new album ‘Curtis’ is behind Kanye West’s new album ‘Graduation’ in terms of sales. First week scans based on early store sales reports show that Kanye is selling 575,000-700,000 units while 50 is only selling in the 500,000-600,000 range, as reported by Billboard magazine.

If getting beaten by your rival isn’t enough, 50 may come in third place on the charts this week. Country artist Kenny Chesney and his ‘Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates’ album is selling in the range of 400,000-550,000 units.

Ouch! A rap mogul beaten by a country singer? Give up 50. Leave while you still have some dignity left.

Britney Bomb one more time in all her horrific glory at VMA

Even with all the hubbub over Britney Spears’ VMA comeback disaster and the Tommy Lee-Kid Rock smackdown, someone’s got to make sure Kanye West gets his fair share of the spotlight. West, who left the MTV Video Music Awards empty-handed Sunday night, has lashed out, claiming the network “betrayed” him and “exploited” Spears. As a black American even I think Kanye uses the race card always. I guess he has to have some excuse as to why he didn’t win any awards. Personally I don’t like his music anyway and he’s too stuck on himself. Honestly I’ve never heard of anyone who’s more arrogant and a know-it-all like he is. As for Miss Britney at MTV, she didn’t do anything she made that train wreck all by herself. If she really wanted to make a ‘comeback” she would’ve been dancing her a** off during practice instead of partying. Also, nothing against non skinny people but if you are gonna wear that kind of outfit at least make sure you have to body for it cause that was gross! Just my opinion

It’s possibly one of the simplest and crass skits ever – putting your junk in a box. But don’t turn your nose up yet because Justin Timberlake and Saturday Night Live regular Andy Samberg have an Emmy to show for it. The duo won a Creative Arts Emmy for their hilarious SNL short film, ‘Dick in a Box’, about a very special gift.

Justin wasn’t able to accept the award because he was in concert but Andy more than made up for his side of the acceptance speech. Andy joked “I think it’s safe to say that when we first set out to make this song, we were all thinking ‘Emmy!’” And then he decided to dedicate the award to a real ‘up and comer’ – creative partner Justin saying “Timberlake’s clearly very talented and could use a break. So, Justin, if you’re out there, congrats to you Kid!”
