Simon Cowell revs up romance with make-up artist

Posted by Cindy No comments

Simon Cowell revved up his romance with Mezhgan Hussainy when the pair made their first public appearance as a couple at the weekend.

Cowell, the UK-US star talent judge, and Hussainy, a make-up artist, stepped out to the spiffy Mr Chow in London’s Knightsbridge with two friends.

The UK Mirror reported a friend said: “Simon is ready to let everyone know. Things between them are moving along very nicely indeed. Their relationship has been conducted under a cloak of secrecy but the situation has now changed.”

A fellow diner at the restaurant, meanwhile, said: “They looked cosy. It was clear there was real chemistry between them. He seemed smitten and she likewise.”

Cowell and Hussainy, 36, were revealed by the paper to have begun dating last summer. She worked on American Idol and on the makeover of his million-dollar star contestant Susan Boyle.

The pair marked Cowell’s big 5-O last year with five nights in Miami at a £21,000-a-day penthouse. “Simon is clearly very enamoured with Mezhgan – and it’s little wonder why. She is absolutely stunning, not to mention incredibly intelligent and cultured,” said one source.

Brandy and Ray J Reality

Posted by Cindy No comments

Brandy and her brother Ray J will be starring in a new reality show called ‘Brandy and Ray J: a Family Business’ which will center around their family, including parents Sonja and Willie and their music production business. VH1 has ordered 11 episodes of the hour-long series that will focus on Brandy raising her 7-year old daughter while working on a new album, Ray J starting a new project of some kind and mother Sonja easing out of her role in the family business. It doesn’t really sound interesting at all so I’m likely to pass on watching this one.

Brandy and Ray J get a new show

Posted by Cindy No comments

It seems that VH1 is really running out of things to put on the air. After Celebrity Fit Club, it looks like the network has decided to have a show with Brandy and Ray J which will have the amazingly original title: “Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business”. The show will also feature Brandy and Ray J’s parents and will center around their record producing since all of them are so good at it. If they don’t get the ratings they hope for, they can always buy a puppy and make it the business mascot… that might enlarge the number of people that want to see Brandy and Ray J on their own show.

Glastonbury Headliners

Posted by Cindy No comments

Glastonbury festival organizer Michael Eavis announced that Muse and Stevie Wonder will be joining U2 as headliners of the greatly anticipated UK summer concert. Muse is rumored to play on Saturday night but festival bosses have yet to officially confirm Stevie. The organizers said “It is very much a possibility but he’s still only on Michael Eavis’ wish list – so not 100% confirmed, it’s pending.” The music fest, which is set to take place on June 23-27 on Worthy Farm, is already sold out. Other acts confirmed to be performing include the bands Hot Chip, Vampire Weekend and Dizzee Rascal.

Beyonce has a surprise planned out

Posted by Cindy No comments

Apparently Beyonce is not going to go on vacation just yet. It seems that the singer is planning on making a “surprise” appearance at the BRIT Awards this year. A source said the following about her plan: “At first Beyonce didn’t think she could make the BRITs. But now it’s looking more likely. With her husband Jay-Z also on the bill it makes sense for her not to miss out.” How utterly surprising! Nobody would’ve seen that coming… especially from Beyonce. I would be quite the surprise if she won an award there also. Or are the sources saving that one for the dramatic climax?

Jacko’s doctor set to be charged on Friday

Posted by Cindy 1 comment

Michael Jackson’s doctor is set to be charged with involuntary manslaughter on Friday.

Rumours have been flying around all week claiming Conrad Murray has been preparing to surrender to police to face the charges.

Now TMZ.com says prosecutors have decided to charge Murray on Friday morning.

According to the website, Murray will turn himself in to the LAPD on Friday morning.

He will then be booked and then taken to the Airport Court in Los Angeles, division 144, where he will face a judge at 1.30pm and be officially charged.

Prosecutors believe Murray administered the fatal dose of Propofol that allegedly killed Jacko last June.

They have been building a case against him for the past six months.

Lady GaGa intends to buy Grammys piano

Posted by Cindy No comments

As previously stated, Lady GaGa was very impressed by the privilege of getting to perform with Elton John. So much so that she actually wants to buy the piano she played during those magical moments. The instrument itself was made by artist Terence Koh and she is going to spend almost half of a million dollars for it. This is what a source said about Lady GaGa’s rash financial decision: “Terence’s artwork is confrontational and incorporates many elements that appeal to GaGa such as sex, punk and gay culture. The black piano with arms reaching out of it was beautiful and it’s no surprise she wants it, especially after giving one of the performances of her career.” It’s probably a good investment for Lady GaGa. Just imagine what it will be worth in a few years if she wants to sell it… especially if her career still continues to blossom.

Huge Grammy Ratings

Posted by Cindy No comments

There was a lot of celebrating at the 2010 Grammy Awards this past Sunday but the execs of the awards show definitely had a lot to celebrate the morning after the event. Putting on the best show that everyone’s seen in years has definitely paid off as the show was significantly up in the ratings, bringing in 25.8 million viewers and killing the competition on every other network. The telecast ended up being the highest-rated Grammys telecast in the last six years! I’d say that those execs better say thanks to Lady Gaga and Pink for giving such amazing performances. Those two singers definitely took the show!

Adam Lambert at the Grammys

Posted by Cindy No comments

Adam Lambert was rocking the right fashion when he arrived at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday for the 2010 Grammy Awards. The 28-year old American Idol alum was right to have been fashionable as the singer served as Entertainment Tonight’s fashion correspondent on the red carpet. How bad would it actually be if he decided to be his flashy self and be saying nasty things about other people’s fashions? Good for him and his job for the night that he decided to be more discreet. I wonder who made it on Adam’s best and worst dressed list.

Sir Elton John had tantrum as he rehearsed with Lady Gaga

Posted by Cindy No comments

Sir Elton John reportedly had a tantrum backstage at the Grammy Awards while rehearsing for his performance with Lady Gaga.

The 62-year-old star recently performed with Gaga, 23, when they sung his track Your Song and then her hit, Speechless.

However, while rehearsing for their performance at the Grammys, Elton reportedly shouted at the people working the autocue because of their spelling and then asked that everyone leave so the pair could get ready.

A source told UK newspaper the Daily Mirror: “Lady Gaga and Elton were seated at a double-sided piano that has arms sprouting from its lid.

“They got into place with Gaga wearing these huge wings – and then Elton just started ranting and ordered everyone out. When he gets angry he’s not to be messed with.”

Jonas Brothers are staying together

Posted by Cindy 1 comment

Despite some recent rumors and the fact that two of the Disney trio have decided to pursue solo careers, Joe Jonas came forward and announced that the Jonas Brothers will still remain on the bands list. This is what he said on the matter: “We are happy being a band, and it’s what we’ve always wanted to do. We are not breaking up. There’s no reason for us to do that.” Well, Nick Jonas has his solo project and Kevin Jonas is too busy being himself and acting, but even if all does not go well, Joe Jonas could just carry on with the band all by himself. And he wouldn’t even have to change its name… too much.

Serge Pizzorno thinks Noel Gallagher is Mexican

Posted by Cindy No comments

The guitarist from Kasabian has recently admitted that he believes Noel Gallagher might have a bit of Mexican blood in him. This is the reason Serge Pizzorno gave for his amazing discovery: “I think Noel might be part Mexican the he goes at tequila. Noel is very much a tequila man and moving from bar to bar – brilliant.” Amazing, isn’t it? Who would’ve thought that from knowing so little about Noel Gallagher Serge Pizzorno could deduce so much. He must really have a gift that man… Kasabian are probably very lucky to have him as their guitarist. They should really hold on to him because with his amazing powers of deduction they will probably be able to rule the world.

Dancing Inmates Do Michael Jackson

Posted by Cindy No comments

With all the time in the world in the palm of their hands, the inmates of Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the Philippines have learned another Michael Jackson routine – this time with some help. The King of Pop’s long time choreographer Travis Payne, with dancers Daniel Celebre and Dres Reid, taught the inmates routines from ‘This is It’. I bet that the late singer would have loved to have seen this. In fact, I’m pretty sure that it’s how he would have wanted it. What would these inmates come up with next? I love watching them as much as I do the actual singers and performers of the routines that they do.

Posted by Cindy No comments

Brit Award bosses are reportedly trying to line up a performance of the Haiti charity single for the upcoming show.

The single is currently being recorded and will feature the voices of stars including Mariah Carey, Susan Boyle, Cheryl Cole and Bon Jovi among others.

It is claimed bosses want to squeeze in either a video of the single, which is a cover of the REM hit Everybody Hurts, into the show on February 16 and are even trying to get the cast for a live rendition on stage.

A source said to UK newspaper The Sun: “A special production meeting was called to reconsider the running order to include the song. It’s something that had never happened before. But the events in Haiti have made everybody sit up and take notice.”

Adam Lambert Talks Fashion

Posted by Cindy No comments

Adam Lambert is featured in the newest issue of Vman magazine’s Issue #17. The 28-year old singer is featured in the ‘How to Dress Like a Pop Star’ feature and spoke about where he found inspiration for his fashion. The American Idol alum said “What I do has been done before. It’s glam. I’m inspired by the ’70s and ’80s. Bowie is a huge influence. So are hair bands. Why must a crazy look necessarily be gay? Our society is more fearful, I guess. And they don’t party enough. Everyone was partying in the ’80s.” Adam will put his fashion skills to good use as he will be serving as a fashion correspondent for Entertainment Tonight’s Grammy coverage on Monday.

Posted by Cindy No comments

Sting’s teenage daughter Coco said she turned into a recluse after suffering a seizure.

Coco, whose is the daughter of the singer and his wife Trudie Styler, has spoken for the first time about the incident, where she collapsed at her home in California last year and was rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Coco, 19, said to NME magazine: “They said I had a seizure. Apparently my bones froze up and I fell like a milk bottle.”

She added: “I became a nervous wreck. I didn’t really go out, I just stayed in and kept myself to myself.”

Beth Ditto is a power ballad fan

Posted by Cindy No comments

Apart from her closet hippie “personality”, it seems that Beth Ditto is also a great admirer of the old ’80 power ballads. This is what she said on the matter: “I think part of the appeal is that they are the ultimate no-no. It fits in with the fact that I still don’t feel normal. We were backstage with Kings of Leon recently and it was like two worlds colliding: the Rolling Stones meets Devo. They were being all cool and we were singing songs about patty cakes.” Yes, that kind of combination will do stuff to a person. It looks like Beth Ditto really has a soft spot for the old school music… a very, very, soft spot. It almost hangs on the verge of collapse.

Jersey Shore cast demand higher salary

Posted by Cindy No comments

Gym, tan, laundry: the costs are high. The Jersey Shore mantra might go quiet after the cast reportedly rejected MTV’s salary offer for the second season.

Sources said MTV offered Snooki, Pauly D, “The Situation” and the other cast members a $10,000 signing bonus and $5000 per episode.

When the cast rejected the first demand, MTV came back with an offer of $10,000 an episode. TMZ reports the cast, who are seeking the same amount for all, have yet to respond.

MTV has the cast bound by contract for another year, so talks may be just that. But the cast are aware of their golden aura – the season finale fetched 4.8 million viewers.

Meanwhile, a bit of a disturbance broke out in the New Jersey enclave of Montclair when thousands of fans lined the streets to try to meet the Guidos and Guidettes. The cast were appearing at the 501 Lounge.

David Sabagh, Montclair’s police chief, told the Star-Ledger: “They had crowds much larger than they could control. They had 600 upstairs, 200 to 300 downstairs and 400 outside. There were fights inside and fights outside.”

By 10.30pm Montclair police had closed off streets to contain the scene. Four people were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and drunken driving, Sabagh said.

The Spice Girls’ musical inspiration

Posted by Cindy No comments

As the upcoming musical about their careers is a definite go, the Spice Girls took a bit of time off to talk about where their inspiration for the whole thing came from. This is what Mel B from the Spice Girls said about the upcoming musical: “All five of us are really super excited. We don’t do anything unless all five agree. All of us loved ‘Mamma Mia!.’ We needed someone who would have a great vision alongside ours. It’s going to be fictional, but various characters will have traits that remind you of the group.” So, that’s the piece that the Spice Girls are going to copy, erm, get guidelines from. In that case it’s probably going to be a noteworthy show for those who have not yet been familiarized with “Mamma Mia!”.
